A designer at the intersection of design and technology.

Yi Sheng is a UI/UX Designer at Aleph Labs — though his work rarely stays in one lane. Beyond interfaces, he designs, crafts content and shapes experiences across branding, video and research, following whatever a project actually needs.

He’s interested in how thoughtful design can make demanding tasks feel simple, and believes designers play an important role in making that meaningful, clear and useful.

An exploratory and research-minded builder at heart, he thrives on turning messy, ambiguous problems into clear product decisions and prototypes.

He also leans on AI tools and workflows to sharpen both the speed and the thinking behind his work — and feels he’s only scratched the surface of what a research-driven, AI-fluent designer can do. He’s excited to keep exploring how to build products that genuinely work for the people who rely on them.

Places I’ve worked

Experience
2025 — Present
Aleph Labs
UI/UX Designer

Has led design across a range of enterprise engagements — harmonising the NHG Health Intranet for 25,000+ staff across seven institutions, running mixed-method research for HealthHub+, and designing A/B-tested web experiences for DBS TravellerShield Plus. His client roster also spans UOB, Synapxe, KFC, Capella, and the Royal Government of Bhutan, working closely with cross-functional teams to turn research into high-fidelity prototypes in Figma.

2024 — 2025
Sgcarmart
UI/UX Designer

Led research and design across the platform’s core commerce experience — redesigning the e-shop landing page to lift engagement and conversion, and reworking the Used Car Advanced Search filter after studying how buyers actually navigated it. Also revamped the Dealer Inventory Management System and supported a new micro-insurance feature, alongside ongoing improvements to the user dashboard.

2023
Accenture
Management Consulting Intern

Supported an Executive Newsletter reaching 180+ leaders, designed a SharePoint Learning Portal used to upskill 200+ program resources, and contributed to sustainability reporting aligned with client ESG goals — while also organising a program-wide Townhall and leading the team’s recognition initiative for a quarter.

2021 — 2022
Republic of Singapore Air Force
Designer

Designed the squadron’s brand identity — posters and visual assets seen by 6,000+ active personnel — delivering more than five projects in a year while keeping every piece aligned with the squadron’s values and culture.
